Individual Speech Therapy
Brightside Speech Therapy works with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that address each child's unique needs and goals. Sessions are offered in the following locations:

In-home- If you live in Marin or Contra Costa Country services will take place in your home. The therapist will bring all the toys and materials needed for the session. A parent or guardian 18 years or older must be present at all times.

School, Daycare, or preschool (private settings only)- The session will take place within the child's classroom during their normal school routines or in a separate room within the school. Prior approval from the school is required.

Virtual Therapy- The sessions will take place virtually via Zoom utilizing online materials and games.

Speech and Language Evaluations
Brightside Speech Therapy uses evidence-based assessments to identify communication disorders and develop personalized treatment plans. Evaluations consist of formal assessments, informal assessments, clinical observation, and parent/caregiver interviews. Evaluations take place in-home or at your child's school (private-settings only). Evaluations include a comprehensive written report, personalized goals, and a parent meeting to go over results and recommendations.

An evaluation is necessary before beginning speech and language services at Brightside to ensure your child has a comprehensive plan of care. Let us know if your child has already received a speech and language evaluation within the last year!

Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) Evaluation and Treatment
AAC is an evidence based, effective way for a child with a speech and/or language disorder to communicate. The use of a language system on an iPad or tablet may be a wonderful way for a child to access language. Brightside Speech Therapy works with your family through all steps of the AAC journey including selecting the appropriate device, conducting an AAC trial and evaluation, and navigating insurance to obtain a dedicated device.

IEP Consulting and Support
Navigating the IEP process and school system can be daunting. Brightside Speech Therapy provides consulting to parents to aid in understanding the IEP process and reviewing your child's IEP with you. Brightside Speech Therapy will review your child's IEP, attend the IEP meeting, and collaborate with your child's school team to ensure the highest quality of care. This service is available to current clients or children who have received an evaluation through Brightside Speech Therapy in the last year.
